Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – Speech-Language Pathology

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Requirements:

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
• Current state license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), or CFY status with supervision
• Prior experience in a skilled nursing facility or geriatric setting preferred
• Strong clinical skills in evaluation and treatment of dysphagia, cognitive-linguistic deficits, and communication disorders
• Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of residents with speech, language, cognitive, voice, and swallowing disorders.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and physician orders.
• Provide direct therapy services targeting communication skills, cognitive-linguistic functioning, and safe swallowing.
• Perform and interpret swallow assessments and make diet modification recommendations.
• Document all evaluations, treatments, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with guidelines.
• Educate residents, families, and staff on therapy plans, communication strategies, and safe swallowing techniques.
• Participate in care planning and interdisciplinary team meetings, contributing to resident-centered goals.
• Monitor and adjust treatment plans based on resident progress and functional outcomes.
• Supervise Clinical Fellows (CFYs) and/or Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) in accordance with guidelines.
