Laboratory Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare process and finished-product samples for laboratory testing.
• Perform analytical testing using instrumental and wet chemistry procedures.
• Conduct daily process-monitoring tests throughout the facility as assigned.
• Record, enter, and report laboratory results using computerized data systems and a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) .
• Maintain samples of tested products for confirmation or additional testing when necessary.
• Promptly communicate testing results and required process adjustments to operations.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of all testing procedures and results.
• Perform routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
• Compare laboratory equipment readings against standards to ensure systems are operating accurately.
• Operate standard laboratory equipment, including pH meters, balances, and spectrophotometers .
• Maintain adequate laboratory testing supplies and notify supervision when materials need to be reordered.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary laboratory work area.
• Wash, clean, and properly store laboratory equipment.
• Develop an understanding of production processes and make recommendations to operations when appropriate to support product quality.
• Follow all required safety procedures and properly utilize approved personal protective equipment.
• Maintain compliance with applicable FDA, GMP, BATF, EPA, OSHA, and company standards and guidelines .
• Maintain positive and effective working relationships with laboratory, production, and other plant personnel.

Preferred Experience

• Previous laboratory or quality control experience.
• Experience with laboratory documentation and accurate recordkeeping.
• Experience operating standard laboratory equipment, including pH meters, balances, and spectrophotometers.
• Previous manufacturing or plant experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Ability to use laboratory instrument software and computerized data systems.
• Strong math skills with the ability to perform calculations associated with laboratory testing.
• Strong attendance and punctuality history.
• Excellent safety record and awareness.

• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds .
• Ability to stand and remain on your feet for extended periods.
• Ability to work 3rd shift, Monday through Friday from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM , with weekends as required.
