Staff Accountant

Job Description Our client is hiring for a Staff Accountant in Atlanta, GA. This role supports the financial reporting and month-end close process for a portfolio of commercial real estate assets. The position manages general ledger activity, reconciliations, operating expense calculations, and partner reporting while supporting property management with ongoing financial needs. This position is 4 days in-office and 1 day virtual once fully up to speed. Responsibilities
I
- Manage monthly accounting for assigned properties, including AP/AR review, expense accruals, revenue verification, operating expense adjustments, and monthly close.
- Prepare monthly general ledgers, balance sheets, income statements, and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy across all balance sheet accounts.
- Partner with Asset Managers on quarterly forecasts and prepare monthly reporting for joint venture partners.
- Support annual budgeting, operating expense audits, venture audits, and property management needs as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting and 2+ years of accounting experience, with real estate experience required.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to take initiative, solve problems, and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across teams and interpret lease language related to CAM/DOE and tax provisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with JDE is a plus.
