Job Title: Registered Nurse

License: Active single-state or compact RN license required.


Certifications: ACLS, BLS required.


Must-Have: Must be comfortable working all PCU and MS units.


Description:
Position: RN - PCU/MS Float.
The role requires flexibility to float to various units based on staffing needs.
Charting experience with EPIC is required.
Staffing needs are re-evaluated every 4 hours, which may result in floating 2-3 times per shift.
Weekend requirement is either every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block.
Holidays: Must work one holiday per 13-week contract.
First-time travelers are accepted.
Local candidates may apply under specified distance criteria.
Pending licenses are accepted if the candidate holds a single-state license from a non-compact state.
All requests for time off must be included with the submission.
The facility may call off 1 shift every 2 weeks.
Required clinical skills include:
Experienced in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration.
Skilled in central line care, trach management, and non-invasive airway support, including nasal cannula, CPAP/BiPAP, and chest tubes.
Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and titrating cardiac drips.
Experience in rapid response and code team situations is necessary.
Background should include telemetry and stepdown-level care.
Average patient ratios: PCU is 5:1 and MS is 6:1, which may flex up to 7:1.
Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy.
The facility offers advanced specialty care, including trauma and stroke services.
Candidates should be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
