About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Progressive Care Unit required. License: Valid nursing license required. Certifications: ACLS and BLS certification required. Must-Have: Previous travel nursing experience preferred. Description: Provide care to patients within the Progressive Care Unit. Maintain a patient ratio of approximately 1 nurse to 5 patients. Utilize skills in IV starts and telemetry monitoring. Familiarity with Epic system for documentation is required. Schedule involves weekdays with occasional weekends and rotating holidays. Float within units of equivalent or lower acuity may be required. The unit focuses on abdominal transplant patients, including kidney, liver, and pancreas transplants. Care for patients with complications such as infections, AKI, and uncontrolled diabetes. Interdisciplinary support available includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Special equipment includes telemetry and bladder scanners. Travelers will not be expected to care for ICU-level patients and will only work in the PCU.
