Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 1 year of nursing experience required. License: Must have a valid nursing license. Certifications: BLS, ACLS required. Must-Have: 1 year of nursing experience within a progressive care or telemetry setting. Ability to float to different units as needed. Experience with telemetry and managing central lines is necessary. Description: This position is for a night shift nurse in a progressive care unit. The nurse will work a full-time schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week. Applicants with only 1 year of experience will be carefully reviewed by management prior to consideration. The position entails working weekdays, with occasional weekends and rotating holidays. The unit cares for adult patients undergoing transplant procedures, as well as those with various hepatology conditions. Special procedures include kidney biopsy recovery and paracentesis. Nurses will have interdisciplinary support from various specialists including physical therapy and pharmacy. Telemetric monitoring will be used, and nurses are expected to interpret dysrhythmias. Candidates must be prepared to complete a fingerprinting process as part of the hiring compliance. References must include two professional contacts, with at least one from a management role. Education must be from an accredited program in nursing.
