Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make a difference in the lives of young learners by providing social work services across multiple educational settings. As a key support for elementary and middle school students, you'll have the opportunity to foster academic progress, positive social development, and emotional well-being. This onsite contract position runs from August through May and offers the chance to work directly with a manageable, diverse caseload spanning three buildings, including nonpublic school settings.

Key qualifications and experience sought:

• Michigan Department of Education approval for School Social Work
• Experience working with elementary and/or middle school students
• Ability to address both individual and group needs, helping students thrive academically and emotionally
• Strong collaboration skills to partner with teachers, administrators, and families
• Compassion and resourcefulness in developing interventions and support plans

Primary responsibilities:

• Deliver evidence-based social work interventions for students in grades K-5 across two elementary schools and a nonpublic school (total caseload: approximately 43-48 students)
• Assess student needs and develop individualized plans to support academic engagement and emotional regulation
• Provide direct services through counseling, crisis intervention, group work, and consultation
• Collaborate with staff and families to coordinate services and maximize student success
• Maintain accurate documentation and participate in required meetings and reporting
