Registered Nurse - Oncology

Job Description

Job Summary:
Seeking a qualified Oncology RN to provide specialized nursing care for cancer patients. The role involves managing complex patient needs, administering chemotherapy, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor oncology patients' health status and respond to changes promptly.
• Administer chemotherapy and biotherapy treatments in accordance with protocols.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, side effects, and self-care instructions.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care, medication administration, and treatment responses.
• Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and support staff to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Follow safety procedures for handling hazardous medications and managing infection control standards.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with Board of Nursing.
• At least 2 years of experience in oncology or medical-surgical nursing.
• Certified in BLS; ACLS and NIHSS certifications are a plus.
• Experience handling chemotherapy and related biotherapy treatments required.
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips and monitor telemetry systems.
• Strong communication and patient education skills.
