Bring your expertise and passion for supporting students to a rewarding contract role near Franklinton and Henderson, NC. This opportunity is ideal for skilled paraprofessionals looking to make a positive impact working 1:1 with elementary and middle school students facing behavioral needs or autism. Start as soon as possible and provide crucial assistance through December 2026, with a potential extension available.
You’ll work Monday through Friday, with the possibility of partial days depending on student schedules and caseload needs. Multiple openings are available for both elementary and secondary (middle grades), offering you the chance to shape young learners’ academic and personal success.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma and at least 48 hours of college-level coursework required
- Minimum of two years’ experience as a paraprofessional in a school-based setting
- Experience supporting students with behavioral needs and/or autism preferred
- Strong communication skills, patience, and adaptability
- Ability to collaborate closely with teachers and specialists
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 assistance to elementary or middle school students during classroom and daily routines
- Implement individualized strategies for behavioral and academic support
- Assist with classroom management while fostering a positive learning environment
- Document student progress and collaborate with staff and families
- Support teacher-led instruction and adapt activities to student abilities
