Clerical Assistant 2

As a Clerical Assistant 2 with the Bucks County Assistance Office, you will play an important part in helping residents receive the support they need. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys organized work and wants to make a positive impact. Each day brings new tasks that keep the office moving forward. This position offers a steady and meaningful way to contribute to your community.

This role supports the daily operations of the office through careful record handling, computer-based tasks, and direct interaction with visitors. It is an important part of ensuring that information is processed correctly and shared with the right people. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • Scanning Tasks: Scan documents, categorize electronic images, modify image sets, and issue receipts when needed
  • Equipment Care: Clean scanners and multiple function devices according to instructions
  • Data Entry: Input information into automated systems such as the Client Information System (CIS) and Mapper
  • Visitor Assistance: Greet visitors, gather needed information, and direct them appropriately
  • Sorting Work: Review, sort, and distribute mail, printouts, logs, and case messages
  • Record Filing: File documents in case records and follow retention schedules

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday with a 1-hour lunch.
  • Travel and overtime as needed.

  • Work Conditions: Assigned duties are performed in a controlled office environment. In counties with District Offices, employees may be reassigned to different work sites due to operational needs. Reassignments will be made in compliance with contract language.
  • Telework: This position may be eligible to telework part time. Specific details of the telework schedule will be discussed during the interview process. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Bristol, PA. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy will be given to candidates who live within Bucks County. If no eligible candidates who live within Bucks County apply for this position candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
