Key Qualifications and Experience Desired:

• Valid certification in Special Education
• Experience working with students who have severe disabilities, including both cognitive and physical needs
• Familiarity with supporting students on the autism spectrum, including non-verbal learners
• Comfort with assisting in toileting and personal care as needed
• Preferred: background in specially designed instruction and applied behavior analysis
• Ability to collaborate effectively with classroom staff, RBTs, and related service providers
• Commitment to inclusive, compassionate education in a K-5 setting

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver specially designed instruction within substantially separate classrooms for K-1st and 3rd-5th grade students
• Employ individualized strategies and communication supports for non-verbal students
• Collaborate with Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), paraprofessionals, and multidisciplinary teams
• Provide a positive, structured, and supportive learning environment
• Assist with toileting and promote independence in self-care skills
• Track and report on student progress, work with IEP teams, and adjust instructional approaches as needed
