Responsibilities include:Phlebotomy tasks: Gathering necessary supplies, assessing veins, performing venipuncture and collecting blood specimens. Labeling and packaging specimens for transport. Documentation of actions.Laboratory testing: Obtaining samples via nasopharyngeal swab or throat swap. Performing rapid strep tests, blood glucose tests, In House Hemoglobin/Hematocrit, Mono and urine tests. Documentation of actions.Direct patient care: Assisting the physician or APC with physical examinations, techniques and procedures, and other aspects of patient care. Observing and recording the current systems and patient history of present illness including physical and mental conditions - noticing physical and/or behavioral changes, the effects of drugs and incidents. Reconciling medications and preparing the patient and electronic health care record for the visit.Miscellaneous tasks: Stocking and maintaining lab supply list, Washington and sterilizing instruments, communication over phone and electronic messages, other tasks as assigned.This is a temporary position and will work a maximum of 1050 hours.Required qualifications: Must have current or be eligible for at the time of hire: Medical Assistant - Certification (WA State) CPR Certification.Preferred qualifications: Experience working as a Medical Assistant in a clinic or urgent care setting. Experience successfully obtaining samples and results for in-house tests. Medical Assistant Phlebotomy Certification (WA State).
