Assistant Manager I

Responsibilities Assist with store functions and day‑to‑day activities. Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns. Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal displays. Perform opening and closing procedures. Process all corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey requests, and other communications related to store activities. Maintain promotional effectiveness of storefront fixtures and displays. Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash register deposits and receipts), and loss prevention. Maintain store areas, including a well‑stocked sales floor and organized stockroom, to company standards. Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash. Adhere to safety guidelines and ensure all associates follow company policies. Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop store associates. Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment while maintaining professional interactions with customers, associates, and leaders. Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms, floors, and waste disposal. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; preferred to be able to read, interpret, and explain operational directives. Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred. Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting. Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required. Ability to work in a high‑energy, team environment required.
