Accounts Payable Specialist

Join a dedicated finance team as an Accounts Payable Specialist, at our Des Plaines, IL office location, where you will play a key role in ensuring timely and accurate payments to our valued suppliers. This position is essential to maintaining strong vendor relationships and supporting the smooth operation of our accounting processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and committed to upholding high standards of accuracy and efficiency in all accounts payable activities.
JOB DETAILS: FULL TIME, MON - FRI, 8AM to 5PM, $19/HR, PAID WEEKLY. MEDICAL/DENTAL/VISION/LIFE/401K AFTER 90 DAYS. PTO AVAILABLEResponsibilities
- Review and process vendor invoices for accuracy and completeness
- Enter invoice data into accounting systems in a timely manner
- Reconcile accounts payable records to prevent duplicate or missing payments
- Maintain positive relationships with vendors and respond to inquiries
- Process payments to vendors using checks and bank transfers
- Investigate and resolve invoicing discrepancies
- Manage payment schedules in accordance with vendor agreements
- Analyze accounts payable processes to identify opportunities for increased efficiency
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and internal teams
- Computer literacy and good typing skills
- Analytical skills for investigating discrepancies and improving processes
- Experience with Sage Accounting system is a plus
