About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours (18:45 - 07:15) Experience: Minimum 2 Years License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, CPI Preferred Must-Have: - EPIC Experience Required - Ability to Administer Insulin and Heparin Drips Description: RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on unit may result in a cancellation and Do Not Resuscitate (DNR). Must be able to work holidays. Possibility of taking care of patients with COVID. Traveler will be assigned to an Inclement Weather Team. Traveler experience is accepted; first-time travelers are welcome. Local candidates will be considered. Target ratios are 1:6. Call is required if assigned to a pre-scheduled shift. Floating to similar units and alternate care locations may be necessary. Traveler will be assigned to every other weekend. Work during catastrophic events, mass casualty, or disaster may be required. Daily patient diagnoses include adults and geriatrics with general medical/surgical conditions. Daily census is approximately 43 patients. Special procedures include heparin drips, wound vac dressing changes, and high flow oxygen. Occasional limited short-term BiPap with respiratory support will be available with no additional training needed. The unit does not handle patients at the progressive care unit (PCU) level. All travelers and staff must attend unit team meetings scheduled monthly. Additional meetings for night shift staff will be conducted after monthly meetings. Meeting invitations will be distributed and added to work calendars accordingly. Candidate must pass EKG testing prior to the start for this specialty. All scheduled meetings must be attended. Candidate must be open to floating within or near the facility as detailed in the job description.
