Northwell is New York State's largest private employer with over 104,000 employees — including members of Northwell Health Physician Partners— who are working to change health care for the better.ResponsibilitiesUnderstands patient monitoring, monitoring equipment and emergency equipment.Understands medicines, medication administration, medication complications, aseptic technique and universal precautions.Utilizes rational protection measures in accordance with Center protocols.Obtains an allergy history to evaluate risk factors that contra-indicate the use of intravenous contract material.Identifies early signs of contrast media reactions.Administers medications in a safe and proper manner including all aspects of moderate sedation preparation, administration, evaluation and complications management.Understands patient monitoring principles including the ability to recognize and react appropriately to life-threatening arrhythmias from the cardiac monitor.Understands oxygen therapy, manage an airway for resuscitation and manage all available forms of oxygen delivery devices.Maintains all forms of Point of Care Testing equipment and the ability to perform testing and/or quality control measures.Operates and troubleshoots the pulsimeter, maintains the Non-invasive Blood Pressure unit, Defibrillator/cardiac monitor and the ability to perform monitoring and/or quality control procedures.Maintains and Models Nuvance Health Values.Demonstrates regular, reliable and predictable attendance.Performs other duties as required.RequirementsGraduate of an accredited school of nursing or college CT Registered Nurse License ACLS BLSWorking ConditionsPreferred experience in a dialysis access center Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity Occupational: Some occupational risk Physical Effort: Very Heavy effort.
