Full Time Los Angeles, CA, US Salary Range: $30.00 To $33.00 Hourly The Studio Coordinator is assigned to a defined Studio or combination of Studios and supports the disciplines, programs, services, operations, and business objectives associated with those areas. Specific Studio assignments, areas of responsibility, and required certifications are identified separately and may be modified based on Club programming and business needs. Job Summary The Studio Coordinator is a hands-on supervisory member of the Los Angeles Athletic Club Athletics & Fitness team, supporting Athletics & Fitness leadership in the execution and growth of one or more designated Studios. LAAC Studios operate as specialized business units within the broader Athletics and Membership platform. Each Studio is expected to deliver distinctive programming, build member community, contribute financially, support membership growth, and consistently reflect the standards and character of the Los Angeles Athletic Club. The Studio Coordinator combines technical expertise, direct member service, operational supervision, and business support. Depending upon the Studio, the Coordinator may also be required to maintain professional certifications and personally deliver classes, private training, coaching, treatments, or other specialized services. The position is a player/coach role. Initially, up to approximately 75% of working time may be devoted to direct service delivery. As the Studio develops stronger participation, staffing, profitability, and operational stability, that commitment should generally progress toward approximately 40%, allowing the Coordinator to devote greater attention to member experience, team supervision, programming, operational execution, and business development. Throughout every aspect of the position, the Studio Coordinator is expected to deliver and reinforce a luxury level of service and personal attention. Technical competency alone is not sufficient. Members should experience thoughtful recognition, anticipation of needs, personalization, responsiveness, discretion, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality comparable to the service standards of an exceptional luxury hotel or private club. Success is therefore measured not simply by classes taught or services personally delivered, but by the quality of the member experience, strength of Studio execution, development of the team, participation of members, financial contribution, and community created around the Studio. Key Responsibilities Member Experience & Luxury Service Deliver a consistently elevated, personalized, and highly attentive member experience throughout every interaction. Know members, understand their interests and goals, and create meaningful personal connections that increase engagement with the Studio and Club. Anticipate member needs and resolve service issues quickly, professionally, and with appropriate follow-through. Ensure instructors, trainers, coaches, and other Studio personnel understand that hospitality, recognition, presentation, and personal attention are fundamental components of service delivery. Maintain an active and visible presence in the Studio rather than relying solely on transactional or administrative interaction with members. Identify opportunities to exceed expectations through thoughtful personal attention, introductions, recommendations, follow-up, and recognition of individual member preferences. Protect member privacy and demonstrate professional discretion at all times. Support Athletics & Fitness leadership in executing programming for the assigned Studio(s). Maintain current expertise in relevant disciplines, techniques, equipment, industry developments, and member expectations. Personally provide classes, private training, coaching, treatments, or other Studio services consistent with qualifications and the Studio operating model. Support the development of compelling classes, workshops, events, private services, and experiences that distinguish LAAC from traditional fitness facilities. Promote participation and proactively introduce members to appropriate Studio programs and services. Monitor participation, utilization, member response, and program effectiveness and communicate opportunities for improvement to Athletics & Fitness leadership. Maintain high standards of instruction, hospitality, safety, presentation, preparedness, and professionalism. Studio Operations & Business Performance Support Athletics & Fitness leadership in operating the Studio as a business unit, understanding its revenue, expenses, labor productivity, participation, utilization, and financial objectives. Execute established strategies designed to improve participation, profitability, productivity, and member value. Maintain accurate operational information and assist with reporting on participation, revenue, labor, expenses, and other Studio performance measures. Support scheduling, administrative functions, inventory management, purchasing, expense control, and other daily operating requirements. Maintain regular oversight of equipment, supplies, furnishings, and Studio conditions. Immediately communicate maintenance, cleanliness, safety, equipment, or presentation deficiencies and follow through until resolved. Identify opportunities for additional revenue, improved utilization, operational efficiency, and stronger member participation. Assist with recruiting, onboarding, scheduling, supervising, coaching, and developing instructors, trainers, coaches, and other assigned personnel. Provide visible leadership during assigned shifts and maintain consistent execution of Studio and Club standards. Reinforce a service culture in which technical excellence is combined with luxury hospitality and individualized member attention. Participate in employee performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and feedback. Maintain appropriate documentation related to certifications, training, attendance, performance, and policy compliance. Support the development of a capable Studio team that expands program capacity while allowing the Coordinator to dedicate progressively greater attention to supervision, member relationships, service excellence, and Studio growth. Ensure compliance with Club policies and applicable certification, safety, operating, and regulatory requirements. Membership Growth & Retention Work collaboratively with the Membership team to position Athletics and Studio programming as an important component of the LAAC membership proposition. Develop relationships with current members that increase participation, satisfaction, loyalty, and retention. Participate, as scheduled, in prospect tours, demonstrations, orientations, trial experiences, and membership events. Communicate Studio offerings with confidence and enthusiasm and help prospective members understand the breadth and quality of the LAAC athletic experience. Support programming and experiences that provide prospective members with compelling reasons to join the Club. Recognize opportunities to introduce members to additional Studios, programs, instructors, and Club experiences. Understand that every member and prospect interaction can contribute to retention, referral, reputation, and new-member acquisition. Club Collaboration & Leadership Collaborate effectively with other Studio Coordinators, Athletics & Fitness leadership, Membership, Marketing, Food & Beverage, Events, Housekeeping, Engineering, and Club leadership. Encourage members to experience the complete breadth of Athletics & Fitness rather than limiting participation to a single Studio. Support Club-wide programs, events, activations, and member initiatives as assigned. Maintain awareness of the broader Club experience and communicate conditions or service deficiencies requiring attention, even when outside the Coordinator’s immediate Studio. Contribute actively to the energy, culture, community, and hospitality of the Los Angeles Athletic Club. Although assigned to specific Studio responsibilities, the Studio Coordinator is a Club supervisor first and may be scheduled to provide broader Athletics supervision, operational coverage, or support for Club priorities. Essential Qualifications Professional certification or demonstrated expertise appropriate to the assigned Studio; required certifications are identified by Studio assignment. Current professional licenses and/or certifications in Yoga, Pilates, and Tai Chi are required. Demonstrated experience training and instructing Yoga, Pilates, and Tai Chi, with the ability to safely lead classes and provide high-quality member instruction in each discipline. Experience in fitness, wellness, athletics, hospitality, private clubs, or another service-intensive membership environment. Prior supervisory or team leadership experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to personally deliver high-quality services within the Coordinator’s assigned discipline when required. Strong understanding of luxury hospitality, personalized service, and relationship-based member engagement. Ability to supervise, coach, and motivate instructors, trainers, coaches, and other team members. Working knowledge of scheduling, operational administration, basic financial performance measures, and productivity management. Service-driven, entrepreneurial, curious, and forward-thinking approach to the business. Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Ability to establish priorities, delegate responsibilities, solve problems, and follow through on commitments. Professional, confident, approachable demeanor with the ability to engage members, prospects, colleagues, and Club leadership. High attention to detail and an instinct for identifying service or presentation issues before they negatively affect the member experience. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and Club events based on business requirements. Physical Requirements Work is primarily performed within fitness, wellness, athletic, office, and other Club environments. Ability to move throughout the Club to supervise operations, interact with members, and participate in meetings and events. Physical requirements vary based upon Studio assignment and the classes, training, treatments, or activities personally performed. May require prolonged standing or walking, bending, demonstrating exercises, and lifting or moving equipment appropriate to the assigned discipline. Requires appropriate visual acuity, mobility, and ability to communicate effectively with members and employees. Grooming & Professional Presentation Studio Coordinators are expected to maintain a polished, contemporary, professional appearance appropriate to an elevated private athletic and social club. Attire and grooming should accommodate the physical requirements of the position while consistently communicating quality, attention to detail, confidence, and professionalism.
