Associate Scientist II, Quality Control

LGC Group seeks an Associate Scientist II, Quality Control in Middleton, WI to independently execute quality control testing for microbiological, sequencing, and biologics products. The role involves routine and moderately complex laboratory workflows, data analysis, compliance documentation, and cross-functional collaboration within a regulated manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Execute routine and moderately complex QC testing workflows independently to support production and product release
• Identify and implement process and assay improvements; contribute technical input to change management activities
• Plan daily work, prioritize tasks, and complete technical assignments with minimal day-to-day supervision
• Document laboratory activities and quality records; communicate results and recommendations to technical and leadership teams
• Provide peer support and on-the-job training to less experienced team members; participate in improvement projects and investigations

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, or related life sciences field
• Independent laboratory workflow execution in regulated biotechnology or pharmaceutical production
• Proficiency with biological techniques: cell-based assays, ELISA, PCR, NGS, microbiology, aseptic technique
• Capability with analytical techniques: electrophoresis, chromatography, mass spectrometry, spectroscopy
• Experience following SOPs, troubleshooting deviations, and documenting laboratory activities
• Strong written and verbal communication; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Demonstrated participation in investigations, process improvements, or controlled documentation activities
