Lead Auditor

The position is in the Office of Audit. As a Lead Auditor, you will:

1. Assist the Audit Director in the conduct of day-to-day audit operations within the applicable Directorate which includes planning, executing, reporting, and liaison responsibilities.
2. Lead a team of auditors; set priorities and deadlines; assign work to team members based on skill level of team members, difficulty of task, priorities, etc.; review and analyze technical and work-related problems/issues that arise and develop or recommend alternative solutions; represent the team in effort to resolve auditee disagreements with audit findings and conclusions; recommend input to performance appraisals; and develop individual development plans.
3. Maintain continuous visibility of ongoing audits, ensure progress, and review audit documentation to ensure compliance with GAGAS including those related to the sufficiency and appropriateness of evidence.
4. Provide sufficient guidance and direction to staff assigned to the audit and assisting staff with executing the audit as necessary, to address the audit objectives and follow applicable requirements, while staying informed about significant problems encountered, reviewing the work performed, and providing effective on-the-job training and development of staff.
