Accounts Receivable Staff Accountant

Our client, a growing consumer products company, is seeking an Accounts Receivable Staff Accountant to join its expanding accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with strong accounts receivable experience who is looking to broaden their responsibilities over time. The role will initially focus on owning the accounts receivable function while offering the opportunity to gain exposure to month end close, financial reporting, and process improvement initiatives as the organization continues to grow. Responsibilitie sManage the day to day accounts receivable process, including cash application, customer payments, and account reconciliation

• Research and resolve unapplied cash, deductions, chargebacks, and payment discrepancies
• Monitor customer aging reports and support collections efforts
• Partner with Accounting, Sales, and Operations to resolve customer account issues and improve communication
• Assist with customer onboarding and account setup within the ERP system
• Identify opportunities to improve and streamline accounts receivable processes through automation and process enhancements
• Prepare accounts receivable reporting, including aging, customer balances, and dispute tracking
• Support month end close activities through journal entries, account reconciliations, and reserve analysis
• Assist with annual audits, special projects, and other accounting initiatives as needed
• Qualification

sBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Two or more years of accounting experience with a strong emphasis on accounts receivable
• Experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multiple departments
• Understanding of accounts receivable and its impact on the overall accounting and financial reporting process
• Experience within a consumer products, wholesale, or retail environment is preferred but not required
• Interest in leveraging technology, automation, and AI tools to improve accounting processes is a plus
