ER Registered Nurse

This position will float between units: No. On-call is not required. Weekends are required: 6 weekends every 6 weeks. Block schedules are approved but not required. Expected patient ratios are 1:3. Special requirements include ACLS, PALS, BLS, NIHSS, TNCC. Previous charge experience is preferred. No float is required for this position. There will be no call required for this position. Staffing Type is self-scheduling. Daily Census: 136 patients. Number of visits per day: 136. Number of rooms: 42. Number of beds: 46. Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary. Patient diagnoses include stroke, STEMI, chest pain, abdominal pain, trauma, NSTEMI, shortness of breath, asthma, GU complaints, headaches, sore throat, and lacerations. Special procedures/unit details include comprehensive stroke and Level II trauma. Must have experience in the management of ventilated patients and central line care. Knowledge of isolation precautions and IV vasopressors is required. Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities nearby the contracted facility. Travelers' refusal to float may result in termination of the assignment and/or forfeiture of guaranteed hours. If required for the assignment, communication devices (i.e., cell phone, pager, etc.) will be provided.
