Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Rotating Day/Night Shifts (3x12-Hour Shifts) | Day: 7:00–19:30 / Night: 19:00–7:30

Key Responsibilities

• Independently manage complex critical care patients including those requiring ECMO as primary bedside RN responsibility without dedicated perfusion support
• Float to all ICUs, TCUs, Emergency Department, and PACU as assigned within a large academic medical center system
• Operate and monitor advanced mechanical circulatory support and multi-organ support devices including ECMO, IABP, Impella, LVAD, CRRT, and PA Catheters
• Provide bedside nursing care for cardiovascular and cardiothoracic critical care populations including heart failure, cardiogenic shock, and transplant recovery patients
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams and communicate effectively across departments in a high-acuity teaching hospital environment

Required Qualifications

• Active California RN License (must be in hand at time of submission)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum 4 years of recent ICU experience (CVICU, CTICU, or CCU)
• ECMO experience within the last 6 months to 1 year, including bedside RN management as primary responsibility
• Teaching hospital experience required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with VA ECMO, VV ECMO, and V-PA ECMO configurations; CRRT (NxStage); IABP (Teleflex); Impella; and Ventricular Assist Devices
• Experience with heart and/or lung transplant recovery, bridge-to-transplant, prostacyclin therapies, and cardiothoracic surgery recovery
• Simultaneous management of multiple support devices (e.g., ECMO + CRRT, ECMO + Impella, ECMO + IABP)
• Prior experience in an academic medical center setting
