Project Support Specialist Location: Birmingham,AL Experience Level: 5–10 Years Contract- 1 Year Job Summary The Project Support Specialist plays a critical role in supporting project teams by ensuring the smooth execution and timely delivery of projects. This position collaborates closely with project managers, team members, and stakeholders to maintain accurate documentation, coordinate meetings, monitor progress, and support risk and budget management. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in project coordination and support functions . Key Responsibilities Documentation & Coordination Maintain and update project documentation , including schedules, meeting minutes, progress reports , and action logs. Coordinate meetings , track deliverables, and follow up on assigned tasks to ensure deadlines are met. Risk & Quality Management Identify project risks , assess potential impact, and recommend mitigation strategies . Work with project managers to proactively minimize risks throughout the project lifecycle. Review project deliverables to ensure quality and compliance with standards; address discrepancies as needed. Communication & Stakeholder Engagement Serve as a liaison to facilitate effective communication among team members, stakeholders, and external partners. Keep stakeholders informed of project updates, milestones, and changes . Budget & Compliance Support Assist with budget tracking , record maintenance, and financial compliance. Support project teams by providing timely and accurate budget data and expense reporting. Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management , or a related field. Experience 5–10 years of experience in a project coordination or project support role preferred. Skills & Competencies Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Excellent attention to detail and follow-through. Effective written and verbal communication skills . Proficiency in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira , or similar platforms.
