Summer Activity Camp: Youth Tennis/Pickleball Camp Instructor (Montlake CC)The Associated Recreation Council (ARC), in partnership with Seattle Parks & Recreation, is hiring an Activity Camp [Tennis & Pickleball Camp] Instructor to deliver camps at Montlake Community Center. The Tennis & Pickleball Camp Instructor will be responsible for programming and delivering a Tennis/Pickleball Camps to children aged 8-12 years. The Instructor will be responsible for creating lessons and teaching the fundamentals of Tennis & Pickleball. The instructor must have the ability to engage with a diverse group of children and manage a classroom of students. A passion for teaching and tennis/pickleball are a must!ScheduleMonday – Friday approx. 18.75 hours per week. 8:30am-12:15pm. Hours not guaranteed and depend on enrollment.Hiring by Date: June 5, 2026Training dates: On-site training will take place between June 24 and June 26, 2026. Details TBD.Program dates: June 29th – August 21st, 2026Pay Range:$27- $29 hourly DOE/non-exempt; seasonal summer position onlyActivity Camp Location:Montlake Community CenterSummer Activity Camp: Youth Tennis/Pickleball Camp Instructor Job Responsibilities:Programming:Develop and deliver developmentally appropriate activity camp lesson plans/activities in the subject area of tennis & pickleball for ages 8-12Instructors are expected to program their camps with support from the Activity Camp AdministratorUse critical thinking to problem-solveGenerate supply lists for camp; there will be some class supply funds availableMaintain camp appropriate professional appearanceDaily set-up, take down and cleaning of spaceReports to Associated Recreation Council Activity Camp AdministratorRelationship Building:Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all participantsCollaborate with Activity Camp Administrator and other on-site staff to ensure safety of all participantsCollaborate with Activity Camp Supervisor to manage behavioral concerns of all participantsCommunicate with parents, coworkers and Seattle Parks and Recreation partners in a professional and courteous mannerAttend all required meetings and trainingsCare and Safety:Follow safety protocols and ensure participant complianceComplete required accident/incident formsSummer Activity Camp: Youth Tennis/Pickleball Camp Instructor Minimum Qualifications:Must be 18 years of age or olderPrior youth programming experience requiredExperience leading recreational, outdoor, or themed programming preferredIf hired, you will have approximately 2 hours of Human Resources new hire onboarding/training and 8-12 hours of on-site on-boarding/training which will include behavior management, programming, parent communication, reporting procedures, etc.Benefits:Paid Sick and Safe Time (PSST)We are actively prescreening and interviewing for this role, so if this role is a good fit for you and you want to learn more about it, please apply now #J-18808-Ljbffr Associated-Recreation-Council
