Ophthalmic Technician

Ophthalmic Assistant / TechnicianNorthern Utah Eye Center is looking for a full-time Ophthalmic Assistant / Technician. This is a full-time role with a consistent Monday–Friday schedule — we're not able to accommodate a shift to part-time hours after hire, so please only apply if you can commit to full-time, ongoing availability. Experience as an Ophthalmic Assistant / Technician is preferred but not required — we're happy to train the right person.Essential Skills and Abilities:DependablePunctualAble to commit to a consistent full-time schedule long-term (this is not a transitional or short-term role)Must be able to perform all job responsibilitiesStrong communication and interpersonal skillsWell-organized with attention to detailEnjoys working as a team member and is able to work with others, as well as individuallyResponsibilities:Patient care under the supervision of a physicianAccurately perform technical work-ups, motility evaluation, visual acuity, pupillary function tests, applanation, refraction, visual field testing, corneal topography, optic nerve and retinal scanning, tonometry, pachymetry, and other ophthalmic testing as neededCommunication with patients regarding testing, follow-up care, surgeries, procedures, symptoms, and directing prescriptions with pharmaciesScribing and other duties assigned by SupervisorQualifications:Experience working in a medical practice settingMust be able to communicate with patients, co-workers, supervisors, physicians, and have a good understanding of ophthalmology and patient careExperience with data entry and working with an EMRAvailability that will remain full-time for the foreseeable future — if you know your availability will change (e.g., a school schedule starting soon), please let us know during the interview so we can find the right fit for both sidesCompensation: $14.00 - $21.00 per hour
