Job ID: 86529 Location: Sacramento Full/Part Time: Full Time Job Summary Manages advanced practice operations for specific areas of care including but not limited to compliance with organizational and regulatory agency standards managing scheduling, time off requests and organizational oversight of the work unit to ensure the competence and qualifications of direct reports. Manages the accountability and stewardship of human, financial resources in compliance with departmental and organizational goals including hiring, onboarding and counseling. Acts as an expert resource person for supervisory staff and health care providers, oversees onboarding new advanced practice providers (APPs) to role responsibilities of the service, establishes policies related to practice, standardized procedures and protocols for APP practice, supports health system research and teaching programs. Monitors patient care ensuring quality and compliance with all regulatory requirements, internal policies and best practices. Collaborates with senior managers and Chief of Advanced Practice to develop, improve and integrate advanced practice functions and systems across specialties and departments. Provides practice supervision for all direct report supervisors and APP FTE assigned. Provides direct patient care to a diversified patient population. Applies knowledge, experience and judgment to determine the importance of a situation, set priorities, and uses abstract thought to evaluate clinical situations. Participates in patient and staff education. Demonstrates leadership skills. This position reports to the Director of Ambulatory Advanced Practice. Apply By Date June 7th, 2026 by 11:59pm Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Two (2) years of experience working as a clinical leader in a position with direct reports Possession of valid California RN and Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner license, or Physician Assistant (PA) license Furnishing license if Nurse Practitioner DEA within 3 months of hire National Board Certification in aligned specialty American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS), or UC Davis Health CPR Graduation with a master's degree, DNP or PhD in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing, or graduation with a master's degree or PhD from an accredited PA school Ability to cope with personal stress experienced by team members, other professionals, and caretakers Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong operational skills Self‑direction and organizational skills to function in an independent role Ability to meet minimum standards for hospital credentialing and billing standards as a billable provider Strong knowledge of human resources practices and policies in a represented provider environment Ability to guide, direct, mentor, train and work collaboratively in a team‑building environment Strong interpersonal skills to explain procedures and to interact effectively with a variety of medical staff and personnel Preferred Qualifications Advanced healthcare leadership or business administration training such as a Master's degree in Business Administration, Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, or equivalent One (1) year of recent clinical experience in ambulatory care Experience managing advanced practice providers with ambulatory responsibilities Key Responsibilities 80% - Health System Leadership 20% - Clinical (may include some or all responsibilities below) Department Overview UC Davis Health is at the forefront of incorporating Advanced Practice Providers (APP) as part of interprofessional care teams to support increasing numbers of complex care patients.
