Program Support Assistant

Duties to include but not limited to:

• Coordination for Surgical Residents and the Surgical Service Programs; Stool Lecture Program with the University and VA Surgical Staff
• Serves as the interface between the students at the Medical Center and then Medical Administration Service
• Responsible for information flow and dissemination within the service and to the universities
• Assists the Administrative Officer in the administration of the Residency Program at the Medical Center including scheduling, processing, evaluation, and accountability for the Residency Program in coordination with the universities
• Coordinates schedule assignments based on the needs of the Surgical Service and in coordination with the participating institutions
• Reviews all evaluation and brings to the attention of the Chief, Surgical Service, inclusive of pertinent information
• Distribution and collection of all Medical Student evaluations. Processes the information and communicates it to the universities as required.
• Provide support to the Program Director, Chief Resident's, University Coordinators, and the Administrative Officer
• Prepares and distributes letters of recommendation from the Chief of Surgery, and other Surgical Service Staff, as requested by the Surgical Residents and Medical Students
• Prepares appropriate forms for travel and reimbursement for members of the Surgical Service
• Perform secretarial duties adherent in the continually daily functions of the Surgical Service.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm, 7:30am to 4:00pm or 8:00am to 4:30pm
