Job Opportunity – Neuro ICU Travel Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: November 16, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Weekend night shifts every other week (Friday and Saturday nights); rotation every 4 weeks based on unit needs. Final scheduling will be confirmed during interview. Block scheduling is not guaranteed.

Highlights:

• Patient ratio of 1:1 to 1:2 in a specialized Neuro ICU environment
• Epic electronic health record system
• Complex patient population including stroke, traumatic brain injury, post-neurosurgery, and neuromonitoring
• 13-week travel assignment with comprehensive interdisciplinary support
• Floating required to units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Pre-approved time off available (must be requested at time of submission)

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license in hand at time of submission)
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (American Heart Association certifications only)
• Proficient in IV starts, telemetry, ventilator management, and intracranial pressure monitoring
• Epic EHR experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required (at least one from manager/director or formal leadership)

Clinical Skills & Patient Population:

• Care for patients with ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, subarachnoid hemorrhages, seizures, neuromuscular diseases, meningitis, and post-operative neurosurgery patients
• Management of ventilated patients, external ventricular drains (EVD), ICP monitoring, and invasive neuromonitoring
• Bedside procedures including central line and arterial line management, blood product administration, and continuous IV sedation
• Post-craniotomy and spinal cord injury care
• Titration of vasoactive and cardiac drips

Important Compliance Information:

• Strict compliance deadline of Tuesday prior to start date – no exceptions
• Ohio fingerprinting must be completed immediately upon contract signing
• Candidates within driving distance of Ohio must travel to an in-state fingerprinting location as soon as possible after booking
• Candidates at extreme distances will receive mailed fingerprinting packets requiring urgent completion
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
• Former employees eligible after 6 months away from facility
