Job TitleBe the First to ApplyJob DescriptionIntegrity and TrustSelf-DisciplinedTeam PlayerPunctualProblem SolverResults oriented with a sense of urgencyResponsibilitiesInterface with internal team to obtain a thorough understanding of NOV Service Equipment products and how they are safely operated, tested, calibrated and problems resolved in a timely manner.Travel to customer sites to inspect, install, commission, test, calibrate, repair, and train customers on the safe and proper operation of NOV productsPerforms preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical)Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve availability, capability, and yieldPerforms equipment failure analyses (including preventive and unscheduled maintenance)Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problemsPrepares technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance proceduresPerform field upgrades of software and hardware and train customers on how to properly operate and maintain equipment.Communicate field failures and feedback reports to the appropriate departmentsClear, concise, and accurate service reporting upon completion of serviceThe technician is self-dispatched. This requires an independent self-starter, self-directed person who possesses the ability to diagnose and determine requirements, plan and schedule daily, weekly and monthly events in accordance with the needs of the company and the customer.Will interact directly with internal as well as external customers on a daily basis, and as such must possess competencies such organizational skills, planning skills, customer orientation and project management skills.Perform other work-related tasks as assignedComply with all NOV company and HSE policies and proceduresQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school education in mechanical or related field is preferred.Proven experience as an Oilfield, Rig or Industrial Mechanic or similar role, with a focus on Iron Roughnecks, Catwalks, Torque Machines or other related equipment is preferred.Experience demonstrated and recorded applicable to servicing toolsStrong mechanical aptitude and understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems commonly found in oilfield equipment.Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematicsExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailThe candidate needs to be a leader, self-motivator and have the ability to interact with our customers both technically and commerciallyAdheres to all HSE requirementsWorking hours to be identified by manager, including On Call hoursMust be able to work in factory environment which may include but are not limited to: high noise level, vibration, fumes, dust, and odorsAble to communicate professionally with internal and external customersNon-standard work hours, 24/7 contact/availability expectations for operational supportComply with Global and Local QHSE policiesBehave in a professional and ethical manner in line with NOV corporate policiesJob InfoJob Identification 43640Job Category Field ServiceJob Schedule Full timeLocations 16211 Air Center Blvd, Houston, TX, 77032, US
