About the Role

The Company is in search of a Head of Retention to lead the strategic and hands-on management of the customer journey beyond the first purchase. This pivotal role is focused on driving subscriber growth, increasing customer lifetime value, and maximizing revenue through owned marketing channels. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and optimizing subscription programs, leading email and SMS lifecycle marketing, and establishing customer lifetime value goals. They will also be tasked with analyzing customer behavior, partnering with growth and paid media teams, and building and managing loyalty and referral programs. The Head of Retention will have a direct influence on revenue, profitability, and customer lifetime value, and will be expected to recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing retention marketing team. Applicants for the Head of Retention position at the company should have a minimum of 6 years' experience in retention, lifecycle marketing, CRM, or customer growth, with a proven track record in owning retention strategy for DTC consumer, wellness, health, subscription, or consumable products brands. Strong expertise in email, SMS, customer segmentation, subscription management, and loyalty programs is essential, as is a deep understanding of cohort analysis, customer lifetime value, and retention modeling. The role requires experience in partnering with high-volume paid acquisition teams and optimizing post-purchase customer journeys, as well as demonstrated leadership in building and managing teams. A background in supplements, wellness, nutrition, or other highly consumable product categories is preferred, along with familiarity with modern retention tool stacks and direct-response marketing.
