Technical Sales Representative
Bonham, TX (on-site)

Symmtrex manufactures cold-formed steel studs, track, and panelized wall systems out of our plant in Bonham, just north of DFW. We cut to exact length, run custom profiles, and turn most orders in under a week while the big suppliers quote two. We're hiring a Technical Sales Rep to own the commercial side of that business and grow it across Texas.

This is not a desk job with a lead list handed to you. You'll be the person contractors call, the one who walks the plans, and the one who knows what the machines can actually run.

What we're looking for

• Commercial construction experience in the DFW market. You know the GCs, the drywall and framing subs, and how work gets bought here.
• Hungry and self-directed. You don't wait for someone to tell you who to call.
• Comfortable with outbound. Cold calls, jobsite visits, trade counters, whatever it takes.
• Fast on response time. In this business the first accurate quote usually wins.
• Technically curious. You should be able to hold a real conversation with a superintendent and a design engineer on the same day.
• Experience selling building products or steel is a plus, as is a degree in construction management or engineering. Neither is required if you can show us you can sell.

What you'll do

• Handle inbound calls, quote requests, and walk-in customers at the Bonham plant
• Prospect and meet with general contractors, subs, and project managers across DFW and North Texas
• Read plans and build takeoffs, or work with our estimating support to turn a set of drawings into a priced order
• Learn the product line cold: gauges, profiles, spans, clips, and connectors, and what our equipment can and can't produce
• Answer customer technical questions without punting every one to the shop
• Keep stocking levels right on fast-moving inventory so we can say yes to same-day pickups
• Own your pipeline in HubSpot and keep it clean

Details

• Base salary $40,000 to $60,000 depending on experience, plus a commission structure
• Full-time, on-site in Bonham with regular travel to job sites and customer offices across DFW
