Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care to patients across the age spectrum during intraoperative procedures within the OR, coordinating with the surgical team to support safe, high-quality care.
- Assist with instrumental setup, patient positioning, sterile technique, and intraoperative monitoring to maintain patient safety and procedure flow.
- Collaborate with surgeons, circulating nurses, and scrub personnel to plan and implement individualized care plans; communicate changes in patient status promptly.
- Maintain accurate documentation of intraoperative nursing care, equipment use, counts, and room turnover while adhering to infection control and safety policies.
- Support the OR team in shared decision-making, patient advocacy, and process improvements; assist in float assignments within the OR as needed.
- Note: This role does not include PACU, anesthesia functions, preoperative holding, or central sterile functions.

Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California
- OR/perioperative nursing experience preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification required; ACLS may be required per policy
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (RN); willingness to work in an intraoperative surgical setting
- Ability to work in a fast-paced OR environment; ability to stand for extended periods and assist with patient positioning and equipment
- Effective communication and teamwork skills; ability to document clearly and follow perioperative protocols
