Summary: Responsible for the oversight and management of the Metal’s departments and all manufacturing support functions in a world-class plant operation’s manner. Is responsible for supervising all employees in a timely completion of all work orders to meet quality and efficiency standards, as well as providing a collaborative approach to excellence in safety, process compliance, and operational excellence activities Primary Responsibilities: The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Responsible for providing safety leadership within the metal’s team, including development of new safety policies and procedures to support world-class practices. Provides strong leadership and mentorship of the metal team by promoting high standards. Exhibits strong organizational skills and the ability to sustain. Assists in the hiring, training, and supervision of metal staff, providing guidance and fostering a positive, employee-centric work environment. Supervises daily work tasks and schedule for department activities. Evaluate and disciplines employees as required, according to company policies. Promote 5S and good housekeeping practices throughout the department. Active participation in the hazardous communication program. Investigate and report on all labor variances. Adhere and train employees to ISO 9001 Quality, ISO 14001 Environmental, and OSHAS 18001 certification requirements. Knowledge and Skill Requirement: This position should possess the following skills/knowledge: High School Diploma. Engineering or Industrial degree preferred. Prefer 5 years’ experience in the fabrication and assembly of metal products or heavy manufacturing field. Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams. Provides guidance and fosters a positive work environment. Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel, as well as key stakeholders. Strong 5S, housekeeping skills that align with world-class manufacturing programs. Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to analyze and make informed decisions. Understands the principles and tools of Operational Excellence with previous experience preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook), previous ERP experience preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-shift environment. Environmental / Atmospheric Conditions: Typical office/factory environment with exposure to ambient temperatures in un-conditioned production areas. Exposure to general production machine noise levels. Exposure to hazards such as electrical and moving mechanical parts. Working Conditions / Physical Requirements: Must be able to be on the shop floor for a minimum of 50% of the workday. During this time, it may include walking, reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods of time. Must be able to withstand extreme seasonal temperature conditions. Required to lift 50 pounds and move odd, shaped objects (desks, tables, etc.). Required to work a 40-hour work week with overtime as required to support plant operations. Each employee is required to wear eye, hearing and foot protection. #J-18808-Ljbffr Georg Fischer
