Role Description The Business Development Specialist is a contract role responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities for FLO by HAC. This hybrid position is based in Carrollton, TX, with some flexibility for work from home. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include researching target markets, generating and qualifying leads, conducting outreach to prospective clients, and scheduling and participating in discovery calls or presentations. The specialist will build and maintain relationships with city and water authority contacts, collaborate with internal teams to refine offerings, and track business development activities in CRM or related systems. The role also involves preparing proposals, supporting bid or RFP responses, and providing feedback on market trends and custom er needs. Qualifications Effective communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication and the ability to present to external stakeholders. Lead generation experience, including prospecting, qualifying leads, and managing a pipeline of opportunities. Market research capabilities to assess customer needs, competitive landscape, and industry developments. Customer service skills focused on responsiveness, relationship building, and maintaining a professional, client-centered approach. Experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably in public sector, utilities, or compliance-related services. Comfort working in a hybrid environment, with strong self-management, organization, and time-management skills. Proficiency with CRM tools and common productivity software; ability to document interactions and follow up consistently.
