Title: Merchant Services Strategy Advisor

Must haves: Commercial Bank experience, gateway experience, repayments experience (15-20 years ideal experience preferred, no less than 7 years)

We are seeking an experienced contract consultant to provide strategic guidance, structure, and execution support as we establish a new merchant services relationship with a commercial bank (e.g., acquiring/sponsorship, settlement, and processing model) for debit card acceptance, and eventually adding credit card acceptance. This individual will help define the target operating model, lead key workstreams with internal stakeholders and external partners, and ensure the relationship is set up in a way that preserves optionality for a future direct relationship with payment gateways/processors.

This is a contract engagement suited for a senior payments professional with deep experience across merchant acquiring, bank sponsorship, gateway/processor integrations, card network rules, settlement/reconciliation, disputes, PCI, risk/compliance, operating model design, and vendor/contract strategy.
