This role involves operating uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS) and providing technical support to ensure safe and efficient operations. The ideal candidate should possess FAA ratings and exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to conduct demonstrations and equipment testing.Job FunctionsFlight Operations & Testing:Plan, execute, and document flight test missions for prototype and production UAS platformsConduct pre-flight inspections, mission planning, and post-flight debriefsPerform engineering flight tests to evaluate system performance, stability, and reliabilityServe as pilot-in-command (PIC) and make real-time go/no-go decisions based on safety and readinessMaintain compliance with FAA regulations and internal safety protocolsTravel up to 50%Technical Support:Maintain and troubleshoot UAS equipment, including performing repairs and maintenance tasks.Conduct equipment testing and evaluation to ensure optimal performance and functionality.Stay updated with the latest UAS technology advancements and industry trends.Safety & Quality Assurance:Lead risk assessments and safety briefings prior to flight operationsEnsure all equipment meets post-production quality standards before deploymentPromote a culture of safety and continuous improvement across all flight activitiesCross-Functional Collaboration:Coordinate with engineering, QA, and manufacturing teams to align test objectivesManage multiple concurrent test schedules and adapt to shifting prioritiesProvide actionable feedback to design teams based on flight performance and system behaviorGenerate detailed test reports and performance evaluations for internal stakeholdersRequired QualificationsStrong attention to detail, with the ability to meticulously follow operational protocols and safety proceduresUAS Part 107 endorsementExperience in conducting demonstrations and equipment testingKnowledge of UAS technology, airspace regulations, and industry best practicesStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities in UAS equipment.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.Ability to lift boxes regularly.Preferred QualificationsFAA pilot-ratedPrivate pilot license (PPL)5 + years of directly related experienceBachelor's DegreeCFI (Certified Flight Instructor) certificationMilitary ExperienceRedwire Defense Tech BenefitsMatching 401(k)Paid PTOPaid holidaysMedical, vision, and dental insuranceGroup Short-Term & Long-Term DisabilityHSA and FSA OptionsCritical Care PlanAccident Care PlanEmployee Stock Purchase ProgramClearance RequirementsThis position may require access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations ("ITAR") and/or the Export Administration Regulations ("EAR").
