Job Description Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supporting daily plasma collection operations, reporting to the Plasma Center Manager. Key responsibilities include donor eligibility determination, adverse event management, lab result review, and safety oversight. Operates under Center Manager guidance and Center Physician for medical issues. Familiar with plasma collection regulations and EHS standards. Pay Range $24-26 per hour. Actual hourly wage range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual wage offered may depend on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, location, and state minimum wage requirements. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility, manage informed consent, conduct medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review serological protein electrophoresis (SPE). Assess donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including donor transport to emergency care. Consult with Center Physician or Medical Affairs on medical/technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility. Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/ER; refer to EHS guidance. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; graduate-level nursing education recognized by state requirements. Licensed or certified in the state of assignment (EMT‑Paramedic). Current CPR and AED certification. Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy. Complete FDA‑approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years clinical or hospital experience.
