Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP), you will be a vital clinical professional, dedicated to providing high-quality respiratory care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric critical care patients. Every day, under medical and departmental direction, you'll deliver essential respiratory care per physician orders and policies. You'll ensure critical care services are met, meticulously manage equipment, and adapt care plans to optimize patient outcomes. To be successful, you'll combine strong clinical expertise, meticulous attention to detail, excellent communication, and a compassionate approach, directly contributing to healing and recovery in critical care. * Respiratory Care knowledge and skills: Demonstrates knowledge regarding infant, pediatric and adult pulmonary disease processes and appropriate respiratory care interventions. * Demonstrates knowledge of applicable ventilator modalities and applications in the acute and sub-acute settings. * Demonstrates knowledge of applicable infant and pediatric ventilator modalities and applications in the sub-acute setting. * Demonstrates knowledge of respiratory pharmacology, including recommended dosing, indications, and contraindications of each drug. * Demonstrates knowledge of therapeutic management and monitoring of the sick neonate. * Provides safe and effective therapeutic administration of aerosolized medications to the tracheal bronchial tree through nebulized medications and IPPB. Job Requirements Required * Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program. * Respiratory care services is pediatric department shall be provided by respiratory care practitioners who are licensed by the state of California and who have completed formal training in pediatric respiratory care which includes didactic and clinical experience * Respiratory Care Practitioner: CA * Basic Life Support - CPR * Advanced Cardiac Life Support * Pediatric Advanced Life Support * Neonatal Resuscitation Program Preferred * One (1) year previous experience as an RCP in acute care and * Two (2) years of acute care experience, including critical care and neonatal intensive care for lead therapist positions and * Experience in pediatric mechanical ventilation and airway management for working in the pediatric sub-acute unit Where You'll Work Founded in 1910, Dignity Health - Community Hospital of San Bernardino is a 343-bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital.
