Key Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant

• Prepare monthly financial statements and budget-to-actual reports as the Staff Accountant
• Perform account reconciliations, financial analyses, and variance investigations as the Staff Accountant
• Manage full-cycle accounts payable activities, including invoice processing, approvals, and vendor management as the Staff Accountant
• Support accounts receivable, billing, collections, and account reconciliations as the Staff Accountant
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes as the Staff Accountant
• Prepare audit schedules and coordinate with external auditors as the Staff Accountant
• Monitor budgets and support ongoing financial planning activities as the Staff Accountant
• Research accounting discrepancies, maintain internal controls, and support process improvements as the Staff Accountant
• Communicate with clients and external stakeholders regarding financial matters as the Staff Accountant

Qualifications for the Staff Accountant

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
• 2-3 years of progressive accounting experience
• Experience with financial statements, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close
• Government, fund accounting, professional services, or public accounting experience is a plus
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
