Environmental Engineer

Join a growing environmental consulting team supporting site assessments, remediation, compliance, and redevelopment projects. This role offers a mix of field and office work, starting at approximately 75% field / 25% office and transitioning to a more balanced split during winter months. Projects are local, typically within an hour of the office.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform soil, groundwater, air, stormwater, and soil gas sampling
• Conduct environmental compliance inspections and site assessments
• Support Phase I/II investigations, remediation, and permitting activities
• Prepare technical reports, data analysis, and regulatory documentation
• Assist with vapor mitigation, remediation systems, and air quality evaluations
• Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies
• Manage multiple projects while ensuring compliance with EGLE and other regulations

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering
• 3-6 years of environmental engineering experience
• Environmental sampling and compliance experience
• Strong technical writing and data analysis skills
• Experience with GIS, LogPlot, or similar software
• Valid driver's license

Preferred:

• 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification
• EIT or PE (or pursuing licensure)
• Air quality, remediation, or vapor mitigation experience

Work Environment: Local field-based work combined with office reporting and analysis. Exposure to residential, municipal, commercial, and industrial projects with strong opportunities for growth and development. Eligible for overtime and double-time pay on qualifying hours.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brighton, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $45.67/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
