Allied Technician - Surgical Tech

CVOR Tech
This position involves performing various cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) tech duties essential for surgical procedures. The roles include assisting the surgical team during cardiac and vascular surgeries and ensuring that the operating room is adequately prepared and maintained.
Shift Details
Day shifts: 3x12 hours (06:45 - 18:45 or 10:45 - 22:45)
Weekend requirements: Up to 2 weekends per month
Types of Cases Required
The CVOR Tech will assist in the following types of surgeries:
- Cardiac Surgery: CABG (on/off pump), AVR, MVRR, TVRR, aortic aneurysm/dissection, total artificial heart, heart transplant, LVAD implantation, minimally invasive valve replacement, and trans-catheter mitral/aortic/tricuspid valve replacement.
- Vascular Surgery: Endovascular and open vascular procedures including AAA, thoracic and thoracoabdominal aneurysm (including fenestrated grafts), endarterectomy, bypass for peripheral artery disease, amputation, ECMO decannulation, and repositioning.
Required Experience
Candidates must have the following CVOR experience:
- Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair
- Atrial Septal Defect Repair
- Carotid Endarterectomy
- Coronary Artery Bypass Graft
- Endovascular Aneurysm Repair
- Endovascular Aortic Repair (EVAR)
- Femoral Popliteal Bypass Graft
- Mitral Valve Replacement
- Pericardial Window
- Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)
- Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair (TEVAR)
- Ventricular Assist Device (VAD)
- ECMO
Qualifications
- 1 year of experience in the CVOR setting is required
- Certification: NBSTSA or NCCT
- BLS certification required
- Preferred experience in general surgery, endoscopic/laparoscopic procedures, thoracic surgery, bariatrics, and transplant cases
Unit Details
The facility features a total of 6 operating rooms, including 4 standard ORs, 1 hybrid OR, and 1 procedural room. The patient demographic primarily includes adults and geriatric patients, with a daily census of approximately 8-10 patients.
Special Requirements
Travelers may need to float within the facility or to affiliate locations if required to meet operational needs.
