Position Title: Personal Accountant

Job Type: Full-Time
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and trustworthy Personal Accountant to manage personal financial activities, maintain accurate financial records, oversee budgeting, and ensure timely payment of bills and taxes. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting knowledge, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive financial information with complete confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily personal accounting and bookkeeping activities.
- Maintain accurate records of income, expenses, assets, liabilities, and investments.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts monthly.
- Process and track bill payments, invoices, insurance premiums, and loan obligations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Monitor cash flow and develop personal budgets to meet financial goals.
- Coordinate with tax advisors and prepare financial documentation for tax filings.
- Track investments, retirement accounts, and other financial portfolios.
- Assist in financial planning, wealth management, and estate planning activities.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Maintain confidential financial records and documents.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and improved financial efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or personal finance management experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA, CMA, EA, or equivalent accounting certification preferred.
- Experience managing finances for executives, business owners, or high-net-worth individuals.
- Knowledge of investment tracking and portfolio analysis.
- Experience with tax preparation and financial planning.
