• Create engaging and age-appropriate lessons that are in line with the school curriculum

• Employ a wide variety of teaching methods, modifying instructional methods to meet class and individual student needs

• Monitor and assess the development and progress of each child

• Establish a positive, productive, and safe learning environment through predictable schedules and routines

• Manage child behavior using positive and appropriate classroom management techniques, lesson structure, and transitions

• Organize and participate in activities that promote physical, mental, and social development

• Encourage children to develop sharing, problem-solving, and cooperative learning skills

• Maintain a clean, organized, and attractive classroom

• Provide a welcoming and friendly classroom environment for all children, parents, and visitors

• Establish and maintain positive relationships and effective communication with children, parents, and staff

• Support, mentor. and direct teacher assistants and aides

• Communicates regularly with parents and caregivers regarding their child’s progress

• Plans and conducts parent-teacher conferences

• Participate in staff meetings (including Monday morning meetings), field trips, school events, and security meetings/drills

• Accurately complete all paperwork (e.g., attendance records, incident reports, newsletters)
