Job Summary We're seeking a detail-oriented Office Clerk to join our Environmental Services team and assist with administrative duties related to Solid Waste Collections, Composting, the Material Recovery Facility, Transfer Station, and Scale House Operations. Flexibility, reliability, and a strong work ethic are essential as trash never stops, and neither do we!.Normal Shifts: Monday-Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Occasional Saturday work may be required based on holidays and operational needs.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform general clerical duties including word processing, data entry, filing, and record keeping.Greet and assist customers, answer questions, and provide accurate information.Operate a point-of-sale register and assist with balancing cash drawers.Manage multi-line phone calls and route inquiries efficiently.Prepare and organize records, reports, and documentation for assigned areas.Support mail processing, copying, and other administrative tasks.Handle customer concerns related to Solid Waste Collections and Dispatch Operations.Minimum Requirement:Must be a US citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker.High School graduate or GED certificate.Desired Qualifications:Some knowledge of filing systems and general office procedures.A Motor Vehicle Operator's license valid in the state of Missouri.Considerable knowledge of the English language, spelling and grammar.Prior office experience.Prior customer service and cash handling experience.Ability to type 40 cwpm.Working knowledge of word processing software used by the City.Why Join UsThis role offers variety, teamwork, and the opportunity to learn multiple areas within Environmental Services.
