Step into a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact supporting students’ success as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming academic year in a vibrant school community near Cicero, IL. This full-time, contract opportunity begins August 17th and focuses on empowering learners through both inclusion and resource class settings.
You’ll teach 3 inclusion classes and 2 resource classes, managing a caseload of 10-15 students. Two dedicated prep periods built into your schedule allow you to thoughtfully plan curriculum and interventions. A skilled Case Manager will partner with you, handling compliance details and providing ongoing support, leaving you free to focus on students’ growth and achievement.
Ideal candidates bring passion, adaptability, and experience in special education settings, and are ready to engage meaningfully with students, staff, and families.
Desired Qualifications:
- State certification to teach Special Education
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher or in a related teaching role
- Strong organizational skills and a positive, collaborative mindset
- Experience with inclusion and resource settings highly valued
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to individual student needs
- Deliver engaging instruction in both inclusion and resource classroom settings
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff
- Participate in IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and family communications
- Utilize your two prep periods efficiently to enhance lesson quality and student outcomes
