This is a part-time, 60% FTE, day shift position. Monday through Friday 8:00 AM 1:00 PM. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

External hires may be eligible for up to a $1,500 sign on bonus (pro-rated based on FTE). Additional compensation components may include: float differential.

We are seeking a Lab Assistant Float to:

• Perform standardized and specialized phlebotomy procedures on patients of all ages and ensure proper patient identification and specimen labeling.
• Complete specimen receiving and processing, load them onto instruments or perform the kit testing, and associated instrument maintenance (temperatures, monitoring reagents) and clerical duties (filing, mailing, faxing).
• Patient check-in and order entry of laboratory tests in the laboratory information system.
• Interact daily with pathologists, physicians, technologists, clinical staff, nursing unit personnel, and patients.

Education:

Minimum High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Completion of accredited Phlebotomy Training program and clinical rotation

Work Experience:

Minimum Six Months of Phlebotomy and Specimen Processing Experience

Preferred One year of experience in phlebotomy and processing

Certifications:

Preferred Phlebotomist (American Society for Clinical Pathology) or equivalent or Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) certification (American Society for Clinical Pathology) or equivalent
