Summary Our summer internship is for students interested in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, and/or Estimating. Interns are assigned to a project site OR our Estimating Department. Our project sites are located in Riverside, San Bernardino, Orange and Los Angeles counties. Interns will receive the opportunity to gain hands-on work experience and guidance while establishing professional contacts in the industry. The hourly rate for this position is $20-$22. Key Duties And Responsibilities Instill Safety as a top priority. Manage and support a team of construction coworkers. Build relationships and communicate with coworkers, owners, design partners, and subcontractors. Review and draft technical submittals such as schedule, shop drawings, work plans, etc. Monitor quality control, safety and environmental programs. Understand and assist with project layout. Identify critical work items and procure long-lead items. Assist with contract administration, including budget and change procedures. Assist with material procurement, including logistics. Work together to resolve field problems and conflicts with subcontractors, suppliers, and workforce. Maintaining as-built drawings & manuals. Experience, Education & Skills Pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience. Computer literate in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and AutoCAD. Strong organizational, written, verbal and time management skills. Have a positive attitude and excellent self-motivational skills. Good attention to detail and the ability to recognize discrepancies. Working Conditions Construction Site Environment – physical ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, reach and climb. Exposed to high noise levels. Office Environment – extensive sitting at desk and computer; some standing, bending at the waist, stooping and reaching required; ability to lift 5-20 pounds occasionally.
