Maintenance Department Manager

About the Role We are seeking a Maintenance Department Manager who will oversee preventative and corrective maintenance for our production equipment and ensure reliable operation of our facilities. Responsibilities Oversee maintenance of injection molding, blow molding, and packaging equipment. Direct daily activities of the maintenance department. Collaborate with the Production Manager to schedule preventative maintenance. Build and lead a world‑class mechanical and preventive maintenance team. Manage outside contractors for installations and projects. Interface with other departments to meet customer deadlines. Hire, train, coach, and review employee performance. Work with HR on discipline, terminations, and recruitment. Supervise safety team activities and enforce safety requirements. Maintain a positive work environment. Develop and recommend improvements for production methods, equipment performance, and product quality. Suggest changes in working conditions to increase shop or department efficiency. Analyze and resolve work problems or assist the workforce. Maintain time and maintenance records. Develop capital equipment justifications for machine tools and process technology to improve quality, cost, and cycle times. Estimate, requisition, and inspect materials. Ensure regular and predictable attendance. Qualifications 6+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment or similar field. 6+ years of experience in a comparable position. 4+ years of experience managing people or projects (education may substitute for part of this requirement). Possesses a working knowledge of the subject matter. Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills. Analytical and problem‑solving skills. Works well in collaborative groups. Attentive to detail and organization. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook. Education Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or vocational studies (minimum). Master's degree preferred.
