Our client is a well-established, Arizona-based healthcare services organization experiencing steady growth across multiple locations. With corporate operations centralized locally, the company operates in a collaborative, mission-driven environment focused on teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Due to recent retirements and internal restructuring, the organization is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant II to join its corporate finance team. This is a high-visibility role reporting directly to the Controller and positioned for long-term growth within the department.

Position Overview

This role combines full-cycle accounting responsibilities with a strong emphasis on payroll processing, payroll-related reconciliations, and financial reporting within the ERP system .

The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable owning deadlines in a structured close environment.

This position is on-site five days per week initially, with potential flexibility after onboarding and proven performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and oversee payroll activities across multiple locations

• Perform payroll-related reconciliations and support payroll tax coordination

• Assist with full-cycle accounting including journal entries and month-end close

• Support a 5-day close process with financials distributed shortly thereafter

• Build, maintain, and enhance financial reports and dashboards within the ERP system

• Perform account reconciliations and variance analysis

• Support audit and compliance requests

• Collaborate cross-functionally with HR and leadership teams

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of accounting experience (industry experience preferred)

• Strong payroll processing experience (multi-location experience a plus)

• Experience working in Paycom strongly preferred

• ERP experience required; experience building financial reports and dashboards is essential

• Experience with Sage Intacct or similar cloud-based ERP systems is a plus

• Strong reconciliation skills

• Ability to meet deadlines and operate in an accountable, team-oriented culture

• CPA not required, but candidates pursuing licensure are encouraged

Growth Path

This is a succession-oriented role. The selected candidate will serve as a key partner to the Controller and will have the opportunity to grow into a Controller-level position within approximately 3-5 years based on performance.
