We are currently seeking a motivated, initiative-taking, and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our growing Payroll team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic department responsible for delivering accurate and timely payroll processing for 2,000+ employees across multiple entities.
Key Responsibilities
As a Payroll Specialist, your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Accurately process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for over 2,000 employees, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Processing wage changes, including calculating retroactive pay adjustments as needed.
- Calculate and process PTO payouts and final pay as needed.
- Assist with payroll-related audits, reports, and accounting reconciliations.
- Support benefit-related payroll projects, withholdings, and reporting.
- Perform routine audits of payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain payroll system data, accruals, and timekeeping records.
- Respond promptly to employee and management inquiries regarding payroll matters.
Qualifications & Skills
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Minimum 23 years of payroll experience, preferably in a high-volume, multi-location environment.
- Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now is required.
- Experience with UKG Workforce Ready (Kronos) is a strong plus.
- Solid understanding of payroll principles, wage and hour laws, and tax regulations.
- Prior experience processing union payrolls and interpreting CBAs a plus.
- Elevated level of discretion and ability to manage sensitive, confidential information.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and meet strict deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and data validation.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a team-first attitude.
